The short neck course is built for 3 different levels – beginners, advanced and very advanced. In each lesson there are 3 levels of study and each time you can learn more and more.
A short-necked Saz Baglama has 19 frets (Long neck Saz has 23 frets). It has a unique and special tuning method especially when played on a short-neck Saz. The sound it produces Is vibrant and full of inspiration. The method for the short neck is easy to learn, and it includes traditional short neck picking techniques.It also emphasis chords and rhythmic study.
The long saz and the short neck Saz complement each other. Two different instruments from the same family. Knowing how to play and tune both instruments can bring new inspiration to our music.
The melodies you will learn in the course, emphasize Turkish and Kurdish music, but You will learn also about Greek, Arabic , Mediterranean & Central Asian influences. You will also learn how the Saz can be used to enrich Western music skills.
